START A JAPAN BOWL®

The Japan Bowl® is an outstanding and rewarding program, which the Japan-America Society of Washington DC (JASWDC) has developed over the years. The Japan Bowl has been supported by many organizations, companies, foundations, and individuals. JASWDC believes that students from all over the world should be able to experience participating in a Japan Bowl. JASWDC collaborates with qualified organizations throughout the United States and other countries that want to organize and host their own Japan Bowl competition.

A Japan Bowl® can be organized in any geographic location. For example, it can be a city-wide, a county-wide, a region-wide, a state-wide, or even a multi-state competition. International competitions may even serve a national audience.

The Japan Bowl® name is an official trademark and is registered with the US Patent and Trademark Office. The Japan Bowl Team Study Guide, Competition Guide, logo, the design of the official mascot “Kanji-kun,” and all questions and other materials used in the competition are protected by US copyright law. Permission to use the Japan Bowl name or logo, and to use or adapt any Japan Bowl materials, including but not limited to the Study Guide or Japan Bowl questions, must be obtained from The Japan-America Society of Washington, Inc.
